Having a friend to lean on is important. It's just as important to also be the tree and be the support. I think that the more we practice leaning, the stronger our roots become and the stronger tree we become (and vice-versa), and therefore the stronger forest we become. The ecology of it makes total sense. The tree provides shelter from the elements like the hot sun and wind. It's beautiful. It clears the air. It's home to birds, squirrels, insects, and so many other creatures. "Friendship is a Sheltering tree."-Thank you Samuel Taylor Coleridge for the astute observation.
